Firewolves of Io ~ Ra Patera!

FireWolf Io Showing Ra Patera Flare  Azure-blue flare Ra Patera! Fire Wolves of Io! The huge volcanic plume – Ra Patera – erupted into the night sky in an explosive maelstrom of crackling fire-born azure flares, streaming across space from Io into the skies of Jupiter. An urban Fire wolf started and sat bolt upright, still and alert in an alien night whilst the flare lighting up the urban skyline burst dramatically across the night sky high above the sulphur-drizzled “Plains of Io.”

Firewolf of Io and Jupiter

Deep in the heart of the galactic urban dance scene the thunderous roar of the cosmic sound systems resonated in a frenzy of solar city magic, firing a dark alien fire wolf driven by an erotic moon fantasy, whirling into a state side rhythmic of burning star-flared erotica, seductive and full of night promise.

Io Moon Fire Wolf_Star of the Celestial WolfIt caught the commanding call of the Alpha, “The Great Star-Wolf” as it echoed across galactic space, its quality of sound resonating in a haunting array of pitches and tones, boomeranging to the minds of each and every Wolf Breed, carrying with it the colourful signature notes of their ascendant – the one known as “Star of the Celestial Wolf.”

It twisted and flared in flashes of burnt-gold sliding through Io’s shimmering moon-shadows dancing in the volcanic night glow, blending with the leaping azure plume that originated from Io’s large shield volcano, the feature known as, “Ra Patera.” The Fire Wolves call to the stars, the sky alight with charged plumes of icy fire. The world in awe.

The interstellar star cruiser slid silently betweenIo_Jup_RaPWolf worlds, a vast tourist in a sea of suns, slipping across jewelled solar systems and through rain-bowed ring systems to capture, for a moment, the beauty of their worlds. Infra-red rose in auroral bands across the rock strewn world of Io – moon of Jupiter – a wildly exotic world, of sulphur-coated vistas and violently active sulphur volcanoes. An alien world of lava flows and lava lakes, of huge calderas and mountains soaring many times loftier than any seen on Earth.

Urban moon-stars flared in dancing diamonds of desert fire as the night sky went supernova lighting up the dance floor of galactic moon shine. And the Sirian-black masked Fire Wolf whirled to the heart beat of the universe, spinning in an eternal rap, the music of the urban stars leading it in the endless rhythm of the solar night. Fire Wolf of Io, melting and blending in the light and shadows of the music of the cosmos, piped on the sound systems of streaming moon dreams, the strobing drum, the beating pulse of solar winds, leading the dance floor of eternity.

In the midst of the colourful and radiant cloud belts surrounding Jupiter, roiling storms raged, the tumultuous Jovian atmosphere possessing of a chaotic and ever-changing beauty that interacted with swirling hurricanes and wild wind-storm systems.

Space was alive with an interstellar light show that threw an opera of rain-bowed lights dancing over the cruiser’s external surface shields. Seen from space they were ablaze with a flaming azure glow.

Star struck viewers watched the display in awed bemusement as the Ra Patera plume burst in burning sun-blue lights fromIo showing flare, close up and crater area the outlandish multi-coloured surface, surging and tumbling through Io’s tenuous atmosphere, streaming across space and exploding through Jupiter’s own swirling, turbulent atmosphere, and the dozens of interacting storm systems before curving out towards IoWolfFantasy3Interstellar space.

Eddying and churning, whirling and twisting, blasts of light bent into rotating loops and spirals coiling across the stars in a whirlpool of exotic silver and exotic electric-azure waterfalls. A shimmying, fiery vortex intimately entwined with the life-force of the Fire Wolf of Io.

Fire is mysteriously powerful, passionate and concentrated. It is fundamental and essential. It filters into the very elements of that which it comes into contact with, and it somehow blends with every particle ~ refining and purifying but also bringing pain, suffering, anguish. The more advanced and complex the integrity of character the more elevated the pleasure but how greatly torturous the pain inflicted, burning with an intensity that in that moment seems like it will consume and destroy us. But in the moment we cease to fear the fire that moment it ceases to harm us.

Chernobyl’s Radioactive Exclusion Zone Wolves

Hunting in the Land of Wolves

Chernobyl: 26 Year Anniversary…1986 – 2012

Radio active Wolves

“When a radioactive nuclear wasteland is abandoned by humans, wildlife takes over. Wolves now rule this once prosperous farmland claiming buildings as their own personal mansions. With humans out of the picture, there is a new boss in town.”

ChernoFireWolf_NewBoss_InTown

“Chernobyl…an old river port in the middle of nowhere surrounded by marshes rivalling the everglades…site of a soviet nuclear power plant and history’s  worst manmade nuclear disaster back in 1986. The Chernobyl accident displaced 1/2 million people leaving behind the world’s biggest ghost town and an exclusion zone the size of Rhode Island. Radio active land void of people for 25 years but now a raw wilderness – ruled by wolves.

A team of scientists enters the forbidden  zone to explore the fate of radio active wolves. Why wolves? The wolf is at the end of the food  chain. It’s the peak of the pyramid. The state of a wolf pack says a lot about the state of the entire ecosystem. Radio collaring wolves will help answer essential questions  about the zone’s top predator and thus the rest of it’s wildlife.

Face masks matter now the wolfs fur is almost certainly radio active. Their time in the zone is up now. Boyde can stay. No one will disturb him here….

On the electronic  map the researchers find the wolves GPS  position this morning…the deserted village of Kososelya  If Boyde and Lotta are part of a pack this could be their headquarters.  The tracks in the snow confirm this is the base of a big pack….”

Wolves in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone which covers a 1,100 square miles reaching into  Ukraine and Belarus, and due to the dangerous levels of radiation is still, 26 years later considered unsafe for human habitation. Scientists with special permits are allowed to visit the zone for short periods to study the effects of radiation on the ecosystem.

They also study it’s effects on the wildlife’s health although any handling of the animals, including wolves which they also tag, and their pups must be done with gloves on due to the dangerously high levels of radiation in their bones.

Health wise the wildlife is in pretty good shape, all things considered though birth abnormalities are twice the norm, but even these figures remain single ones. Where humans once lived wolves now roam, claiming their territory amongst the abandoned and evacuated buildings.

Female Roman Gladiators Stand Victorious!   33 comments

Female Roman Gladiators Stand Victorious!

Female GladiatorAncient Rome frowned on Women gladiators and there is bare minimal mention of them in the writings of the ancient Romans. This ensured they remained very few in number and they were even banned in A.D. 200 by Emperor Septimius Severus. None the less a handful did manage to achieve gladiator status and to fight in the arena.

Fighting for Glory in the Gladiator Arena

Female Roman Athletes vs Female Roman Gladiators

In the world of ancient Rome it was only female athletes that did not perform wholly topless, wearing instead a two-piece bikini like garment.

Roman images of Female AthletesThe occasional flashing of an exposed breast was not unheard of during an athlete’s performance, and indeed it was a feature built into the garments design, but exposing both was totally taboo and utterly unacceptable.

Male Roman Gladiator

Although male gladiators frequently entered the arena topless, wearing only a knee bandage and a loin cloth, female gladiators would usually wear – besides the knee bandage which was common to all gladiators, additional garments.

p

However the low social standing of a gladiator (often slaves) did mean that should a female choose to enter the arena topless it was not thought of as unacceptable. This was done, possibly, in order to emphasise that they were female gladiators rather than male.

.

Helmeted Female GladiatorShe would also have worn protective/defensive kit including a shield and a warrior’s helmet, and shin protectors known as greaves. The male gladiators if so inclined would also wear a breastplate. Both male and female gladiators were usually armed with a dagger like sword, a short, curved weapon known as a “sica”

Roman Gladiatorial Eroticism

Armed Male Gladiator

“In a society so militarised as the Roman one, in which weapons were so popular (but exclusive to men), to see a woman in that role, so different to the usual feminine one, wearing the armour of gladiators and showing so much of her anatomy, should also stimulate the imagination and the libido of spectators.”~ Alfonso Manas of the University of Granada

Topless Female Gladiator

Roman writings did not however describe topless female gladiators in an erotic context or using language that would imply this.
