Despite many years of space exploration, we have no evidence of the sound of other planets.

Many years of space exploration, in huge diversity of forms has taken place but in all that time, and despite all the technology available to us no-one, ever, has heard the “sound of another world.”

“Hearing the sounds communicates ideas about the different atmospheres and highlights the sheer alienness of the other worlds in our solar system.”

~Dr. Jenny Shipway, Planetarium Manager at INTECH

The Sheer Alienness of Other Worlds

Venutian lightning, Martian whirlwinds, Titan’s (Saturn’s largest satellite-moon) icy volcanoes – the natural sounds of other worlds all from the utilisation of maths and physics! Proving that there really is a valid point and reason to our enduring long and torturous maths classes and endless hours spent in the school physics lab!

A Southampton University team led by Professor Tim Leighton of the University’s Institute for Sound and Vibration Research have, using unique transforming software been able to model the sound of a human voice on Earth to one on another world/alien planet.

Mars, Venus and Titan all have very different and varied temperatures, atmospheres and pressures. These factors all play a valid role in affecting how the human vocals sound in different off-worldly environments.

“We are confident of our calculations; we have been rigorous in our use of physics taking into account atmospheres, pressure and fluid dynamics.” ~ Professor Leighton

Venus_Atmosphere

“On Venus, the pitch of your voice would become much deeper. That is because the planet’s dense atmosphere means that the vocal cords vibrate more slowly through this ‘gassy soup’. However, the speed of sound in the atmosphere on Venus is much faster than it is on Earth, and this tricks the way our brain interprets the size of a speaker (presumably an evolutionary trait that allowed our ancestors to work out whether an animal call in the night was something that was small enough to eat or so big as to be dangerous). When we hear a voice from Venus, we think the speaker is small, but with a deep bass voice. On Venus, humans sound like bass Smurfs.” ~ Professor Leighton

The latest research has led to the capturing of the sound of the Martian and Venutian atmospheres extending the science further and also adding to the portfolio, the sounds of Martian thunder and dust storms, Venutian thunder, and the sound of thunder on Titan and of it’s ice cold cryo-volcanoes.

~ Research conducted by MSc students Nikhil Banda and Benoit Berges working with Professors Leighton and White

Professor Leighton and Dr. Andi Petculescu at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette have also investigated in detail how musical instruments accompanied by human singing would sound if conducted in an alien planet environment. In the future, if mankind is able to create Martian settlements they might well decide to take the “sounds of Earth” with them in the form of music and instruments or maybe design something new during their time on Mars. Perhaps even creating a galactic orchestra with Martian symphonies! It would be interesting to hear how they would sound and be affected by such an extreme environment. The song of the stars!

There is also another sound not heard before on Mars… Chickens Smile It is worth noting that the Galactic Olympic Stadium on Olympic Host World, Mars has currently been converted into a “Super Chicken Coop”… They have since been eaten…by Clowie the Pyrenean Mountain Dog so there is only one left….Winking smile

“Chicken on Mars Song” provides the sounds of the one remaining chicken on Mars Winking smile (There were a lot more before Clowie arrived Smile ) This Martian Chicken is also clear evidence that there is indeed life on Mars!

~Urban Moon Wolf~The Voice of the Night~

“If you listen close at night you will hear the creatures of the dark, all of them sacred – the owls, the crickets, the frogs, the night birds. And you will hear beautiful songs, songs you have never heard before. Listen with your heart. Never stop listening.”

~ Henry Quick Bear (Lakota)

Glowing, hazy auroras surrounding the black magic star wolf, his intense gaze fixed on the entrance to the Wolf-ways. Solstice solar-flare black-moon wolf fired with lunar ice and alive with skating bursts of solar energy sliding in burning gold bolts across his silken coat, illuminating the heart-power of the solitary intergalactic moon wolf, racing upstate through his sun-fired body with the flames of life and interstellar dreams.

He paused, head thrown high eyes to galactic space, alight with the fire and the power of the celestial wolf, the light of every wolf- way that had ever been, shining in a light brighter than the morning sun. He tossed star-black head, soft velvet fur shining gently in the lunar night. Looking out, alert, across the radar topped office buildings, the cool future-night sky beyond and above them, tiny sleepy clouds trailing wisps amongst the murmuring sighs of the music of the cosmos.

The silence of eternity captured in an interplanetary dream. Pools of black lunar light sinking silently into the mystery of dark moon visions, catching the rippling, silken moon beams in fluid star-black eyes. Dream catcher. He halted in the mists of time, poised on the edge of forever, distant astral gaze seeing into eternity in timeless wonder. Fathomless voids of high-tech future biospheres encompassing tomorrow’s dreams in a future reality far from the timeless zones that stretched ahead of him, reaching out in wisps of interworld light clouds.

Fire moons danced and swayed across the darkened, sultry wolf-fired eyes, drifting and swirling past night shadowed canyons. Troughs and peaks of sharp, jutting alien-rock formations reaching endlessly into smoked-fire skies of a night world of volcanoes – reflected in the all-seeing eyes of the Fire Wolves of Io.

“Those worlds in space are as countless as all the grains of sand on all the beaches of Earth”

“We on Earth have just awakened to the great oceans of space and time from which we emerged. We are the legacy of 15 billion years of cosmic evolution. It is well within our power to destroy our civilisation and perhaps our species as well…But we are also capable of using our compassion and our intelligence, our technology and our wealth to make an abundant and meaningful life for every inhabitant of this planet.”

White Wolf Spirit Guides

White Wolf Moon

Against the backdrop of a rising Moon, glinting satellite monitors watching galactic space as intently as a star wolf listens for the call of the moon-song on a cold winter’s night.

A milky Full Moon glow casts a hazy silvered aurora in mystic shadowed magic around the White Moon Star-Wolf. Magic of the Moon-song. White wolf mysteries of the Full Moon Rising over an enchanted nightscape. The song of the Moon wolf echoing eerily into the night sky, casting its sound to the sphere of 1000 stars.

White wolf waits, watching for you from the enchanted forest that is your mindscape, calling to you, unseen, unfelt, but for those for whom wolf is spirit guide, the haunting call of the moon-song will let you know he is there. Bold and space silver. Caller of the star song and the moon dreams, fired by the consuming power of the solar streams and the call of the cosmos.

Magic of the Moonsong

The concept of linking a specific energy or purpose to a particular animal using their colour as a basis is an age-old concept, not the new one that some people perceive it to be.

There are various breeds of wolves within the world’s wolf community, each sharing very similar energies. However individual wolf guides within the pack have their own specific energies which when learned are useful tools when working with “wolf magic”.

  • The White Wolf:

The white wolf is the phantom, the spiritual wolf, the wolf between worlds, existing simultaneously in both effectively bridging the gap between them. White wolves show us the way, the art needed to build bridges that span the divide between the spiritual and physical worlds that exist in our lives. In doing so the white wolf teaches the art of bringing balance to our lives and helps us to make sense of the meaning and purpose of events and issues that inevitably occur in our daily lives.

  • Brown Wolf:

Is the medicine wolf, teacher of the ways of health and healing. In order to maintain a healthy balance between the mind/body/spirit we must understand and learn the ways in which we can successfully combine nature’s healing abilities with our existing earthly knowledge of medicine.

  • Grey Wolf:

Is the hidden one, the shadow hunter, slipping ghostlike through the veiled mists and the swirling fogs, of natural world sight into the mysteries of the spirit realm. The grey wolf is the teacher of spirit connections and communications. How we can balance our path with information from our spiritual teachers and guides.

  • Red Wolf:

Is the earth-forest wolf, guardian of earth and nature, hunting amongst the Redwood forests, and all lands of our world, at one with the life-force of the Earth They teach us the great art of communicating both with the natural world around us and the very Earth itself that is home to nature. Red wolves teach us also how to communicate in these spheres on both a physical and spiritual level, for example, in our dreams

  • Black Wolf:

Our guide and teacher in the physical dimension. The black wolf helps us to bring balance to our physical and material natures, our everyday erotic and sensual and sometimes carnal desires! When we need to focus our minds on such matters, questions and concerns as the disputes of our earthly, worldly existence, black wolf is there to help us to do. Spiritual lessons learned along the way are good for helping us to evolve. They allow us to progress onwards and upwards till we reach the next level of our spirit lives.

These are top level colour categories from which the whole variety of shades in the wolf kingdom flow. These create sub-categories, eg wolves of lighter colouring, would fall into the White Wolf category etc.

Depending on your life circumstances, one particular animal may stand out as the most prominent at any one time. This is because when working on a certain area of your life that animal’s specific energy is the energy you need to help you progress and move forward.

If you marry, your dominant animal also gains a mate. In fact it is likely that your dominant animal will be the first of the two of you to find a mate, and their romantic energy will in turn impact on your energy leading to you attracting a mate of your own.

The Silence of Eternity

Moon_Song_Wolf

“Those worlds in space are as countless as all the grains of sand on all the beaches of Earth” ~ Carl Sagen

Lunar frost mountain tops contrasted with the stark black of cosmic space, the cold glitter of distant stars strangely bright in the clear skies. A New Moon star wolf watched silently from the ghostly lunar sentinels and alien crags and rock faces, dusted with layers of silvered regolith. Star silvered moon watcher on an alien moon

A sliver of sunlight slanted above the horizon. The first shadow of dark ring world system rising on moons dawn lit horizon, the impossible deep purple world rising steadily to hang in silent ringed beauty, filling the entire horizon of the moon world. The New moon star wolf watched silently. Viewing the silence of eternity for the first time, caught in its dark ringed alienness.

New wolf moon. Huge and bold it hung dark and shadowed in a mystical sky high over the Europan plains home of the wolf gates. Moon wolf watching. Glowing silver star wolf answering the call of its star kindred, calling the haunting song of the time-moon wolf across the red skins of another world, a mysterious, matted globe glowing dimly in the sky of another world.

Standing against the roiling storm banks, rearing up ahead, dark, brooding green and blue storm clouds stealing menacingly across a wind-blown horizon.

The rainbows of life following the storms…

The song of the stars echoing gently the void that was Europa’s outer limits. The velvet blackness of interstellar space . Tiny moons dwarfed by the mother world’s size and luminosity glittering silently in the winking void, tiny star-ships moving steadily closer through the silent darkness.

As the ancient myth makers knew we are children of the Earth and the sky. We on Earth have just awakened to the great oceans of space and time from which we emerged. We are the legacy of 15 billion years of cosmic evolution. One of the great revelations of the age of space exploration is the image of the Earth, finite and lonely and somehow vulnerable, bearing the entire human species through the oceans of space and time. ~ (Who speaks for Earth)

The sky calls to us. If we do not destroy ourselves, we will one day venture to the stars. ~ (The Backbone of the Night) Carl Sagen
